Central Orthopaedics employs George Lewinnek, M.D., to provide orthopaedic care (also spelled orthopedic care) to north central Massachusetts in north Worcester County, serving primarily Athol, Ayer, Fitchburg, Gardner, Groton, Harvard, Lancaster, Leominster, Lunenburg, Princeton, Sterling, and Townsend. We treat problems of the neck or cervical spine, low back or lumbar spine, vertebral fractures, herniated discs, herniated nucleus pulposus, displaced intervertebral discs, spinal stenosis, radiculopathy, sciatica, pinched nerves, degenerative disc disease, spondylolisthesis, spondylolysis, and spondylosis. Procedures include discograms, discography, kyphoplasty, anterior cervical disc fusions(ACDF), anterior lumbar interbody fusions (ALIF), disc surgery (discectomy or discotomy), posterolateral lumbar interbody fusions (PLF) with pedicle screws, transforaminal lumbar interbody fusions (TLIF), laminectomy, and X-Stop interspinous spacers. We also do bone and joint diagnosis or diagnostic work, joint injections, fracture and trauma care, internal fixation of fractures, carpal tunnel releases, evaluation of arthritis, total hip replacements, total knee replacements, and independent medical evaluations.
